Why Your Child’s Future is Under Attack
Have you ever considered that from the moment of conception, there is a battle over your child? It’s not just you anticipating the birth—God is waiting, and so is the enemy.
"She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born." Revelation 12:2, 4b NIV
Have you also ever wondered why raising a godly child feels like warfare? Why some children face resistance even before birth? The truth is, the enemy isn’t passive—he’s strategic. He waits at the door of every destiny, seeking to corrupt or destroy it before it fully manifests.
Why You Must Pray Over What You Birth
The moment you conceive—whether a child, a vision, a dream, or a purpose—you must recognize that it carries divine intent. But where God plants a purpose, the enemy plants opposition.
God is waiting for your children because He has designed them for a mission. The enemy is waiting because he wants to hijack that mission for his own use. This is why spiritual vigilance is non-negotiable. Many destinies have been altered because they were left unprotected.
Another Perspective to Delay
What if I tell you that sometimes, delays are God’s way of calling you to deeper intercession. He knows that without spiritual covering, what is born may be stolen and so he allows the delay so that enough prayer can be made over that child or dream. Why?
Some believers only pray intensively when they face delays—when the baby isn’t coming, the opportunity isn’t opening, the dream isn’t unfolding.
So to ensure that God's intent for that child or opportunity doesn't get corrupted after birth, God brings you up to a position of spiritual dwelling in the form of prayer.
The Battle Doesn’t Stop at Birth
Revelation 12:13 reveals that even after the child is born, the enemy continues his pursuit. He shifts tactics—if he can’t stop a child from being born, he will try to corrupt their path.
In today’s world, this battle plays out through:
- Peer pressure and negative influences that shape a child’s mindset.
- Parental distractions—mothers and fathers too busy to disciple their children.
- Worldly ideologies that introduce values contrary to biblical truth.
A mother can pray for nine months and birth a promise, but if she becomes spiritually passive afterward, the enemy finds an opening. Many destinies have been stolen not because they weren’t born, but because they weren’t guarded.
Will You Surrender Your Children to God?
The woman in Revelation 12 escaped, but the dragon went after her descendants.
This raises a crucial question: Who will raise your children—the world or God?
As parents, mentors, and guardians, we must ask ourselves:
- Am I covering my child’s life in prayer daily?
- Am I intentional about their spiritual growth?
- Am I too busy to notice when the enemy is creeping in.
The enemy is relentless, but so is God. The choice to yield them to God isn’t just a one-time decision—it’s a lifelong commitment.
The battle is real. But victory belongs to those who stay vigilant in prayer and unwavering in faith. Will you stand in the gap for your children?
