What If You’re the Contaminator?
Sometimes, You're the Contaminator
This morning, as I was about to brush my teeth, I took some water from the tap into my cup. When I looked inside, I saw particles floating in it. My first thought? The tap water must be contaminated. So, I poured it out and took another fill—but the particles were still there. Puzzled, I decided to wash the cup properly before trying again. This time, the water was clear.
It wasn’t the tap water that was contaminated; it was the cup. And in that moment, something struck me.
We often blame everything around us. We blame the advice we receive, the company we keep, the waitress, our spouse—everyone except ourselves. But sometimes, the issue isn’t external. It’s internal. The problem isn’t the source; it’s the vessel.
Have you fixed yourself?
Just as I had to wash my cup to finally get clean water, it’s time to cleanse your internal perspective—your mindset, habits, and the way you view life and people. If what you keep receiving as the final product of your life isn’t what you want, then start by checking yourself first.
A person who has had a terrible experience with someone or something may begin to see all similar people and places as disasters waiting to happen. But that perception may not be reality—it may simply be a result of a corrupted lens. Wash your eyes and look again.
Yesterday, I told some people that we attract who we are 95% of the time. This doesn’t mean that every single person who comes into your life will be good, but the majority will reflect your inner state. Your boundaries and standards will naturally filter out the rest.
If you don’t love yourself, you might attract people who won’t love you either. If you don’t respect yourself, you might attract people who won’t respect you. It all starts from within.
How Do You Wash Yourself?
1. Reflect on the current patterns in your life. Are they what you truly want?
2. Observe if any negative cycles keep repeating.
3. Analyze your own role in these patterns.
4. Shift your perspective where necessary.
5. Implement the change and step into transformation.
Transformation starts with self-awareness. Take the first step today—wash your lens, refresh your mindset, and watch how your world changes. Start now. Choose one thing to reflect on, adjust, and act upon today. Share your thoughts, and let’s grow together.
